AESC Researchers and Associates Summit, London UK

19 September 2014

Saskia and Farah spent an informative and productive day attending the AESC Researchers and Associates Summit in London on 19 September 2014.

The annual AESC Researchers & Associates Summits bring together retained executive search professionals from across the world who are responsible for aspects of the executive search process that include name generation, organizational mapping, telephone outreach and candidate qualification.

Saskia and Farah were warmly welcomed by the AESC, of which PHOENIX has been a key sponsor for many years. Apart from enjoying the networking opportunity, Saskia and Farah were very impressed by the presentations, panel groups and resulting discussions.  Of special interest was the panel session moderated by Carol O’Driscoll, Director of Archer Search, entitled “What is changing in our profession and beyond?” with the participation of :

  • Juerg Herbert Baertschi, VP Operations, Korn/Ferry
  • Sue Mandelbaum, Director, Almond Tree Associates
  • Lisa Davies, Head of Best Practice, Research, Odgers Berndtson
  • James Miller, Engagement Manager, Board Practice, Heidrick & Struggles

In addition, Laura Stoker, Executive Director for Global Training AIRS, gave an insightful presentation entitled "Finding Top Talent using Creative Mobile and Social Media Strategies". This workshop introduced mobile and social recruiting best practices and the latest trends in technology that are impacting day to day business and influencing recruiting tactics. Laura presented some useful tools which assist Researchers in doing faster and more targeted search via internet. We are already incorporating new ideas into PHOENIX's research methods!

We look forward to forthcoming AESC events as these are always great occassions to socialise with clients, meet potential new clients and share tips and exchange ideas with our peers in the industry.
